Originally from the wilderness of Altadena California, Dawn migrated to New York City to study music and theatre at New York University and never looked back. Dawn has been a student of voice, piano, and theatre since childhood. Acting credits include Broadway: Sting's The Last Ship (originated the role of Young Meg), Wicked (Nessarose), Music in the Air (Encores! City Center). Off-broadway: Original company of Dogfight (Second Stage), original company of F#%king Up Everything, now known as Brooklyn Crush. Regional/National Tour: Les Miserables (Eponine u/s), Romeo and Juliet (Juliet), The Master Class (Sophie De Palma). Film: The Train (opposite Eli Wallach), Tilting At Windmills (Tannhauser Films). TV: Every Other Sunday (Amazon), The Tonight Show. She has a new musical, Hiraeth, in development alongside Addi McDaniel. She has played such venues as Radio City Music Hall, Walt Disney Concert Hall, The Kennedy Center and several other venues internationally. Dawn has been honored as a finalist in the Music Center of Los Angeles Spotlight Awards in Vocal Performance and was the recipient of the New York Music Theatre Festival's Next Broadway Sensation Award. She also writes and performs with her brother Ryan Cantwell (musical director/conductor forthcoming Broadway revival of 1776, Waitress, Pippin, Bat Out of Hell) Their music can be found here.
